  • Is Medical Cannabis Legal in the UK?
    Yes. Medical cannabis has been legal on prescription in the UK since November 2018. A GMC-registered specialist doctor can prescribe cannabis-based medicines for patients with conditions where at least two conventional treatments have not been effective. Over 60,000 UK patients currently hold active prescriptions.
  • Do I Need a GP Referral?
    No GP referral is needed to begin. You can self-refer directly to Naturecan Clinic. You will need to provide your full Summary Care Record — either by uploading it yourself or giving us permission to contact your GP. This record is reviewed by our clinical team before your consultation is booked. Self-referral does not guarantee a prescription; your eligibility is assessed by a specialist doctor.
  • How Much Does It Cost?
    Naturecan Clinic membership costs £70 as a one-off annual payment, or £9.99/month. This covers your specialist consultations, ongoing care, and repeat prescriptions. Medication costs are separate and paid at the pharmacy. Klarna is available to spread medication costs.
  • How Long Does the Process Take?
    The timeline depends primarily on how quickly your medical records can be provided. Once we have your Summary Care Record, most patients can book a consultation within a few days. If your doctor determines that medical cannabis is clinically appropriate, your prescription undergoes a mandatory independent clinical review before being dispensed and delivered by our licensed pharmacy via signed Royal Mail.
  • Can I Transfer from Another Clinic?
    Yes. If you are an existing medical cannabis patient at another UK clinic, you can transfer to Naturecan Clinic. There is no transfer consultation fee. You will need to provide your Summary Care Record and a discharge letter from your current clinic. Our clinical team will conduct their own assessment before any prescription is issued — we do not automatically continue prescriptions from other providers.
  • What Happens During a Consultation?
    You'll have a private video call with a specialist doctor who will review your medical history, discuss your condition, and — if appropriate — create a personalised treatment plan. Your doctor will explain everything, including what to expect and any potential side effects. This consultation may or may not lead to a prescription — the decision is made by the clinician based on your individual circumstances.
  • Is Naturecan Clinic CQC Registered?
    Yes. Naturecan Clinic (operated by Ropana Clinics Ltd) is fully registered with the Care Quality Commission. Our CQC registration number is 1-14518645695. You can verify this directly on the CQC website.
